That title sounded like it came from an adult director's shortlist, but don't get it the wrong, the Calaguas group of islands' beaches just up north of Camarines Norte looks to have the qualities of Boracay, only without the lively commerce. Ryce's photo gallery with a little discovery help from the Travel Factor adventure tour group is a proof of that.

The beach with the fine white sands is called Mahabang Buhangin and it seems this place has been getting some pretty good numbers in terms of visits even without ready accommodations. When I first saw the beach shots, I couldn't believe it, but there it was, a stunning gem that didn't mean having to go on a domestic flight to get to Boracay just to experience fine sand. A lengthy bus ride awaits us instead. The island can be reached from the town of Vinzons and it's a two hour boat ride to get there.

The group of islands is comprised of Tinaga Island, Guintinua Island, and Maculabo Island, and several other smaller ones.
