I first thought this island gem was closer to the island of Mindoro but it turns out it's just south of Negros Oriental, near the captial Dumaguete City. If you're a diver and you still haven't heard about Apo Reef, the area is a community-organized marine sanctuary with a little help from Dr. Angel Alcala, and it is one of the best diving spots in the world.

It's about a 30 minute boat ride from Dumaguete City.
