Admittedly, I'm a big fan of Palawan. For some reason, I equate the province to exotic tropical escapades. What I find most interesting is that while the northern areas of Palawan is closest to the metro, it somehow doesn't get that much attention in terms of development. Well, I understand that's always being worked on, but compared to the heart of the province in Puerto Princesa, well, you get the point. I understand there are well known resorts in this part of Palawan as well, such as Club Paradise and even the famed Amanpulo.

Freeze My Thoughts has a written a very detailed entry on her trip to Calamian Islands and other areas in Northern Palawan. She's got even prices covered of the various activities she did, transportation she used, and places she stayed at. There are several photos of the various places of interest, too, and shouldn't be a miss if you're eying northern Palawan as your next adventure stop.

Apparently, we also have some imported wildlife from Africa, including Giraffes and Zebras at the Calauit Game Preserve and Wildlife Sanctuary. Correct me if I'm wrong, from what I heard before this is where the last strongman Ferdinand Marcos liked going to.

One word of advice though, when traveling to unfamiliar and often not-too-developed places such as these, be sure to carry ample amounts of supplies and moolah. You never know when emergencies will strike you next.

Oh and don't forget the mosquito repellent.
